At the LASA 2026 International Congress in Paris, Dr. Janice Perlman presented on “The Impact of Brazil’s 1985 Transition from Dictatorship to Democracy.”
Her presentation explored the lasting impact of Brazil’s democratic transition on urban development, governance, and public policy. Dr. Perlman also served as the Commentator on a panel focused on 20th Century Urbanism in Latin America, contributing her expertise to discussions on the region’s evolving cities.
